About the Sandra Irving Scholarship

As a way of helping, encouraging and inspiring students, Sandra Irving, a graduate of UNB Saint John in political science, established the Sandra Irving Scholarship, valued at $10,000.

The scholarship applies to students at UNB Saint John majoring in political science who have completed a minimum of 15 term courses. Other criteria considered include academic achievement, volunteer service, and career aspirations.

How to apply

Submit a short essay (300-400 words) describing:
(1) how receiving this scholarship would help you.
(2) your participation in any volunteer or other extra-curricular activities.
Applications are to be submitted to Faculty of Arts, Deans Office by email to artssj@unb.ca by May 17, 2024.

The assessment process

Once applications have been received and reviewed, you may be contacted to participate in an interview with the committee. At this point, interviewees will meet Sandra Irving and be given an opportunity to elaborate on the proposal submitted to the committee.

This scholarship is awarded by the University on the recommendation of the Vice-President Saint John who is advised by the Sandra Irving Scholarship committee members.
