Each year, UNB receives gifts from donors like you in memory and in honour of students, alumni, current and former faculty and staff, and friends. Your gifts further UNB’s mission of teaching, research, and service to the community.

Gifts made in memory

A memorial donation is a thoughtful way you can remember someone who has passed, while carrying on their legacy.

Gifts made in honour

An honorary gift to UNB may be made in honour of a specific person or to celebrate a milestone of your loved one. Some of life’s special events and milestones you may wish to honour include:

  • Births and birthdays
  • Weddings and anniversaries
  • Graduations and retirements
  • Mother’s Day or Father’s Day
  • Get well, good luck, best wishes, congratulations, thank you

How to make a gift

You may make a gift in memory or in honour of someone using one of the following methods:

  • Give online
  • By mail, using our In Memory or In Honour Gift form
  • By phone: (506) 447-3122
  • By visiting our Fredericton office: Alumni Memorial Building, Lower Level, 13 Bailey Drive, UNB Fredericton; or Darren McLeod in our Saint John office: Beaverbrook House, 127 Carleton Street, Saint John.

Upon receipt of a gift in memory or in honour, we will inform the appropriate person as per the donor’s request. If you require assistance in making arrangements to direct a memorial or honorary gift to UNB, please contact Olivia Parker at (506) 447-3122. We would be happy to provide wording for obituaries, supply memorial or honorary cards, and answer any questions you may have.

Student awards can be a lasting tribute:

By establishing a student award (such as a scholarship or bursary, or for other purposes), In Memoriam or In Honour gifts can help students succeed at UNB. In these instances, we work closely with the appropriate family member or friend to support them in this special effort. To learn more, or to establish a named fund in memory or in honour of someone, please contact Olivia Parker in Fredericton or Darren McLeod in Saint John.
