The University of New Brunswick is proud to announce the 2026-27 recipients of the Good Energy Scholarship at UNB, made possible through the generous support of Irving Oil.
This year’s Good Energy Scholars are Inioluwa Abiodun-Disu, Maddie Desmeules, Willow McGrath, and Leyla Peter-Paul.
Inioluwa Abiodun-Disu of Saint John is a graduate of Saint John High School. Inioluwa is enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing degree program at UNB’s Fredericton campus.
Maddie Desmeules of Hampton is a graduate of Hampton High School. Maddie is enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts degree program at UNB’s Saint John campus.
Willow McGrath of Saint John is a graduate of St. Malachy's Memorial High School. Willow is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science degree program at UNB’s Fredericton campus.
Leyla Peter-Paul of Fredericton is a graduate of Fredericton Christian Academy. Leyla is enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts and science degree program at UNB’s Fredericton campus.
The Irving Oil Good Energy Scholarship at UNB supports New Brunswick students beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB, with a focus on supporting students from underrepresented groups. Selection is based on academic achievement, community impact, volunteerism and extracurricular activities. At least four Irving Oil Good Energy Scholars are selected each year.
