Accessible accommodations and special considerations

If you are planning to live in residence, and have accommodation needs of medical in nature, you will need to register with the Student Accessibility Center (SAC). The SAC will then provide Residence with a reccommendation based on your needs.

If you have any accommodation needs outside of medical, you can email resadmin@unb.ca.

Accessibility at UNB

As per UNB’s Statement of Principle, “the University of New Brunswick must be known as an institution of inclusion. In accordance with this objective, the University will make its best efforts to ensure there is barrier-free access to learning and employment for qualified people who have different types of disabilities.”

Many of our buildings on the Fredericton campus have been built or renovated to make them more accessible. Ramps allow easy access, elevators have been installed in several residences and some rooms can be customized to meet special needs.

For more information on accessibility at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus, contact the Student Accessibility Centre.

Special dietary requirements

If you have special dietary requirements, book an appointment with our campus dietitian at the Student Health Centre. Our dietitian can assist Chartwells (our campus food provider) with special food or menu recommendations to accommodate your needs.

Dietary information is posted at each meal time in our campus dining halls for your convenience.
