Masters of Education in Accessibility Studies in Education (ASE)

Our Master of Education in Accessibility Studies in Education is designed for educational professionals who intend to further advance their knowledge, understanding, and application of diverse learner needs and evidence-based inclusive practices.

Students in the program will develop a critical lens of the structures, processes, and practices used to support and enrich the learning experiences of all learners.

Particular attention is given to educational approaches that emphasize collaboration, consultation, universal design methods, and applying strength-based perspectives in viewing learners.

Requirements

Applicants to the MEd Exceptional Learners are required to have:

  • a Bachelor of Education degree or its equivalent
  • a grade point average of at least 3.0 (B, or its equivalent)
  • a minimum of one year of teaching or related professional experience.

Deadline

The MEd Accessibility Studies in Education Program has one application deadline annually. Deadline for applications is Dec 1.

Medium

This program is currently delivered completely online and has no in-person component. Some courses run with scheduled interaction (synchronous). Some run asynchronously, with dialogue mostly on discussion boards in a learning management system.
