Bike to Campus Week

May 25 – June 2

Bike to Campus Week

UNB Sustainability hosts the first annual Bike to Campus Week, to encourage staff, faculty and students to cycle to campus.

Bike to Campus Week is in partnership with the first annual Fredericton Bike Week, from May 25 to June 2, with various bike-related events around the city such as block parties to guided trail bike rides.

Dust off your bike and pedal towards campus to participate. UNB Sustainability offers you many resources to encourage you to cycle to campus.

Bike maintenance workshop

Tune up your bike and learn about its maintenance at the bike maintenance workshop, on May 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Kinesiology Building’s covered bike rack. Knowledgable cyclists will assist you during this Green Event in getting your bike road-ready and show you how to do this yourself.

Shower access

URec provides those commuting on bikes access to showers during Bike to Campus week. Bring your UCard to the CURRIE CENTER gym front desk to get access to the shower rooms, even if you’re not a URec member, if you’d like to freshen up after your bike ride to campus.

Bike racks

You can park your bike on one of 29 bike racks located on UNB’s Fredericton campus. Find the one most convenient for you and lock your bike. UNB Security recommends to use a “U” bike lock and to register your bike online with them to prove ownership.

Bike to campus, share a picture of your commute with you or your bike using the #BiketoUNB hashtag and you will be entered to win every time you post a new image of you cycling to campus on Instagram or Facebook. The winners will be contacted at the end of the week.

Prizes include:

  1. One UNB hoodie and a reusable bamboo cutlery set
  2. One UNB water bottle and a reusable bamboo cutlery set
  3. A reusable bamboo cutlery set
