English Language Program

Study academic English with the Faculty of Management

If you are an international student interested in obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at UNB and your English is not at the level of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, you can still be accepted into the program on condition that you improve your English to that level once accepted.

If you have an IELTS 5.5 or 6.0 (or equivalent), we can offer you a pathway that will ensure your English skills are appropriate for the full BBA program without the need to take the IELTS again. This pathway program includes some BBA courses along with English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes through UNB’s renowned English Language Program.

*Students with IELTS below 5.5 (or equivalent) will be enrolled in full-time EAP classes before beginning the BBA Pathway.

Virtual English Language Program

Learn English and stay connected with virtual face-to-face classes. Virtal ELP courses allow you to connect face-to face with our facilitators and other students in an online setting. These dynamic, interactive courses will focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

With an EAP focus, our programs offer maximum benefit to students wishing to increase their English proficiency for university study. Improve your ability to write, read, problem solve, study independently, give presentations, and improve note-taking and critical thinking skills.

Intensive English for Academic Purposes

Full-time language studies incorporate class time, assignments, tutorials and advising. These options can equip you with the English language skills you need to be successful in an academic setting.

AESL 1011 English as a Second Language for Academic Purposes

A practical course in the written and spoken use of language designed to meet the requirements of students whose first language is not English. Specialized curriculum is designed and delivered according to the needs of the students. NOTE: Students who already have credit for ENGL 1011 cannot obtain credit for AESL 1011.
