Student Services

Student Services at UNB Saint John supports and provides a student-centered learning environment. We are committed to meeting the developmental needs of individual students, fostering a caring environment and encouraging personal and intellectual growth.

The Student Accessibility Centre provides information and assistance for students with disabilities. This includes physical and academic accommodations, dedicated testing space, and specialised technology and textbook formats.

Counselling offers confidential, free, supportive personal counselling covering a variety of issues including anxiety and depression, stress management, substance abuse and relationship problems. Career counselling is also available to students.

Our Campus Sexual Assault Support Advocate offers free, confidential consultation, ongoing support and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence.

The Student Health Centre is located behind the Athletics Centre and serves all UNB students. A list of services and hours of operation is available on their website or you can contact them directly at 648-5656.

Our Writing Centre offers confidential help at any stage in the writing process. Students wanting help on a written assignment or who are working to improve their writing skills can make a Writing Centre appointment.

Academic Development Coaching supports students in developing academic skills that lead to success. Students can improve their skills in academic reading, note-making, test preparation, scheduling and workload management. We also maintain a list of students interested in offering tutoring.

Student Appeal Support is available from the Director of Student Services for appeals to the University on academic and disciplinary matters.

Student Employment Services assists students in seeking permanent, summer, or part-time employment. Students can get support with job search techniques or improve interview skills. We refer students to our Writing Centre for assistance with a resume/CV or cover letter.

Financial Aid provides information about loans and scholarships and helps students navigate government student loan appeals. Bursaries based on financial need are also available.

International Student Advising helps international students prepare for their arrival and organizes welcome week activities for international students. Our international student advisor also provides support throughout the academic year.

The Co-Curricular Program allows students to have their efforts on campus and in the community recorded and recognized by the university. We can also direct students to clubs, organizations and opportunities available on and off campus in order to enhance their university experience.
