University refund policy

Tuition and related fees are managed by Financial Services.

The refund policy for Summer Term – May to August courses, sessions A through K – is based on prorated fees from the first day of class up to sixth class. No refund will be issued after the sixth class.

Ceasing to attend lectures or notifying the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. The effective date of withdrawal will be the online date or the date formal written notification is received from the student.

Academic dates

Summer session has a number of important dates such as course start dates, dates to withdraw without academic penalty, reading week, holidays and exam periods.

Note these are academic deadlines. If you are unsure which dates apply to your particular course, check with the Office of the Registrar at 648-5670 or unbsjreg@unb.ca.

Summer exam schedule

An exam schedule will be developed for summer course offerings after registration takes place. The instructor will determine whether or not a particular course has a final examination. This information will be conveyed within the course syllabus and communicated within the first two weeks of the course.

Exam schedule updates will be posted on the MyUNB intranet.

Regulations

A student enrolled in the Saint John summer term is subject to all academic regulations and degree requirements as outlined in the current undergraduate calendar.

Ceasing to attend lectures or notifying the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. The effective date will be the date the withdrawal is completed through the web registration system, or the date written notification is received from the student. Note that students cannot withdraw from their 'last' course, so notification in writing to the Office of the Registrar would be required.
