Fitness testing

URec conducts fitness tests and job related assessments for individuals and groups. Testing services include (but are not limited to): body composition analysis, VO2 max testing, general fitness testing, strength testing and occupational testing (e.g., PARE Test).


  • Do not eat a heavy meal, drink caffeinated beverages or smoke two hours prior to the appointment.
  • Do not drink alcohol or participate in strenuous physical activity six hours prior to the appointment.
  • Do come with an open mind!

Fitness testing fees

  • Fitness assessment (CSEP PATH): $66.30 members | $76.50 non-members
  • Body composition: $40 members | $46 non-members
  • Advanced Body Composition Analysis: $81.60 members | $96.90 non-members
  • Vo2 max: $96.90 members | $117.30 non-members
  • Indirect VO2 max: $43.86 members, up to 6 people | $49.98 non-members, up to 6 people
  • Strength testing: $58.14 members | $66.30 non-members
  • PARE test: $65 members and non-members
  • NP Power Testing: $72 members and non-members
  • COPAP: $72 members and non-members
  • RCMP CEP Rate: $72 members and non-members
  • FFE Testing: $65 members and non-members

Note: All prices are subject to HST.

PARE testing

  • The cost of the test is $60 plus HST and can be paid online when you register or over the phone with a credit card
  • All testing will take place in the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER (15 Peter Kelly Drive) at UNB. Parking is available.
  • Proper clothing and footwear to run the test is required. The locker rooms will be available for the washroom use only. Please come changed and ready to go as locker rooms are unavailable for changing and/or showering at this time.
  • Bringing a water bottle is recommended. 
  • Face masks are required to wear when walking through the building, but you won’t be required to wear one during the test, except for at the very beginning of the test when heart rate and blood pressure are taken. If you do not have a mask or forget one, a mask will be provided to you by the Training and Testing Coordinator.
  • Paperwork will be required to fill out upon arival. If you have a medical issue form, please bring that with you. This is not mandatory unless you have immediate health concerns.
  • Please bring your proof of vaccination (two doses) along with a government-issued ID in order to enter the facility and proceed with testing.
  • Please cancel your booking if you are sick and/or answer yes to any of the COVID questions.
