At the School of Leadership Studies, you can shape a degree that matches who you are and how you want to contribute to the world. Our programs connect ideas, people and communities so you can practice and learn leadership in in real-world contexts.
Students come to the School of Leadership Studies with different goals, interests and life experiences, but they share a desire to make a meaningful, positive impact. Our programs meet you where you are and help you grow as a thoughtful, adaptable leader.
An accelerated three-year, cohort-based Bachelor’s degree for students who want an intensive leadership education grounded in interdisciplinary thinking, collaboration, reflection and applied learning. The BPhil brings together rigorous coursework, experiential design and two major internships, all supported by a close-knit learning community.
Students completing the BPhil select a minor in a discipline of their choice, grounding their leadership studies in a focused field of application while expanding their academic perspective. Some students choose to remain for a fourth year to expand their minor into a full second degree.
A four-year degree that pairs the full BPhil program with a Major in an Arts discipline. Students complete both degrees simultaneously, moving through leadership studies and their chosen subject area with strong advising and structured support. We admit up to twelve students each year, creating a selective and highly engaged learning environment.
A flexible degree pathway for mature students who want to finish a degree while balancing work, family and community commitments. You integrate previous post-secondary study and professional experience through a Prior Learning Assessment, complete new coursework, and earn a Certificate or Minor in Leadership Studies that strengthens your academic foundation and leadership capacity.
You can add leadership studies to almost any degree at UNB through a minor or a certificate. These options help you think deeply, grow your self-awareness and confidence, strengthen your impact, and learn to lead with care across communities and contexts.
A powerful complement to any program, the minor introduces leadership theory and applied skills, engaged citizenship and diverse worldviews, real-world projects and advanced topics.
A stand-alone credential or an add-on to another degree that develops core leadership concepts and practical skills.
If you would like more information about any of these programs, or want help exploring which pathway is right for you, we encourage you to reach out to leadershipstudies@unb.ca.
