Honours programs

Students in the Department of Psychology may pursue honours programs in:

  • BA honours psychology,
  • BA joint honours (psychology and another arts discipline),
  • BA honours Specialization in Neuroscience,
  • BSc honours psychology option, or
  • Concurrent BA/BSc (honours psychology or honours psychology option, not both; also not honours Specialization in Neuroscience).

To be considered for the Honours program, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have taken the following prerequisite courses:
    * A minimum of ten Psychology courses completed at the time of application
    * PSYC1013 (Introduction to Psychology I)
    * PSYC 1023 (Introduction to Psychology II)
    * PSYC 2113 (Introduction to Statistical Methods in Psychology)
    * PSYC 2103/2123 (Quantitative Research Methods)
    * Four of the “foundations” courses: 2203, 2313, 2403, 2603, 2515/2613, 2703
    * PSYC 3151 or 3152 (Basic Research)
    * It is recommended but not required to take PSYC3113 prior to PSYC4110
  2. A MINIMUM cumulative GPA of 3.6 based on all of UNB Psychology courses.
