The Faculty of Business at the University of New Brunswick is recognized for its innovative programs, quality education and consistency in producing future business leaders.
We are a small, friendly and dedicated faculty with a mission to enhance our students’ understanding of the world in which they live and work. Our students are more than just a number. We know them by name and provide unique opportunities for their career development.
Our students learn to make a significant difference in their community. They present papers at conferences, serve on the Saint John Board of Trade and interact with some of the most experienced business people in our city and province.
We are a faculty of subject matter experts. In the Faculty of Business, learn small business strategy from an entrepreneur, finance and business law from a lawyer/chartered accountant. Be challenged to incorporate new technologies into your assignments by an information and communications technology expert.
We are committed to pursuing applied research that meets the needs of local industry and New Brunswick’s development efforts. We’re directly engaged with the Saint John community — and beyond.
The Faculty of Business Strategic Plan 2017-2022 identifies strategic priorities and opportunities to advance the faculty.
Students choose our programs to develop the skills that will give them a competitive edge in today’s business environment. Working with students from around the world provides them a unique perspective and an exceptional educational experience. Whether they choose our Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) or BAM in Accounting, they learn to think outside the box and develop critical research skills.
Our faculty is committed to hands-on learning. Our partnerships with industry give students valuable experience through our co-op program and internships in Canada and abroad.
Looking for an inspiring, inclusive environment of learning, discovery and service? You’ve found it. Our Master of Business Administration programs attract students and faculty from around the world with a high-quality business education that focuses on direct interaction between faculty and students.
Our graduate students have access to research funding, attend conferences and compete in national competitions. They graduate with careers in the private and public sectors – and have started their own businesses.
The Faculty of Business has been a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 2014 and is currently in the process of seeking accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate programs by AACSB. Accreditation by AACSB is the hallmark of excellence in business education that has been earned by a very small proportion of the world’s business programs.
In February 2018, the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) of the AACSB accepted the Faculty's Initial Self Evaluation Report (ISER). Acceptance of the ISER is a turning point in the process leading to initial accreditation by AACSB. The faculty has up to five years to complete the process, but aims to achieve accreditation by 2020.
