The Department of Sociology offers both master’s (MA) and doctoral (PhD) research-based degree programs. Enrolment can be either on a full-time or part-time basis.

Many of our graduate students are engaged in original research in areas such as:

• Domestic and family violence
• Health, health policy and social determinants of health
• Population studies
• Law, criminalization and security
• Media and communication

We usually have between 25 to 40 enrolled graduate students. This means we can offer a collegiate student environment, but also personalized attention with faculty members.
