New and legacy students

UNB introduced new, differentiated program fees for the 2019/20 term that affect all newly enrolled students, as well as students who are being re-admitted to a program after an absence of 12 consecutive months.

In order to provide tuition predictability for current and continuing students, legacy tuition rates will apply to continuing undergraduate students who were enrolled in a degree, diploma, certificate or undergraduate no degree program in the 12 consecutive months prior to Sept. 2019, and are continuing in an undergraduate program of study in 2019. Legacy undergraduate tuition rates will end in 2024.

Eligibility for legacy student status

Students with the following enrolment status will be considered ‘legacy’ students:

  • Students who are currently enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program and undergraduate no degree students, who were enrolled in the 12 months immediately preceding Sept. 2019;

  • Students who are currently enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program and undergraduate no degree students, who were enrolled in the 12 months immediately preceding Sept. 2019 who change from one UNB undergraduate program or campus to another;

  • Students who are concurrently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, who were enrolled in the 12 months immediately preceding Sept. 2019, will have the legacy tuition honoured until their degree program is completed.

  • Students enrolled in a bridging year program in the 12 months immediately preceding Sept. 2019 and transfer to the undergraduate degree program.
