John's grandfather introduced him to his favorite sport at the age of 7.  He learned basic skills in the back yard because his town did not have a formal league.  John did not join an organized basketball program until grade 7 when he joined in at BRHS.  In that same year, he also began attending St. FX basketball camps where he solidified his love of basketball.   John continued to play until his last year of high school when he was given the honour of being his team captain for the second year in a row, was named MVP as well as Athlete of the Year.

"Besides winning, the competitiveness is my favorite aspect of playing basketball", says John.  He also enjoys the camaraderie of the sport and feels as if the team is his second family.

John would love to his team win the ACAA banner this season.  He is also looking forward to improving his skill and fundamentals in order to take his game to the next level.
