Thomas began playing basketball at the age of 5 and has continued to love the sport over the years. Growing up, he competed in the East Saint John Minor Basketball Association program. When he got to high school, he joined the SJHS Greyhounds and in 2010 they received Basketball New Brunswick's Fair Play banner. Thomas also served on his high school Student Council as the Athletic Representative.
Thomas' favorite part about basketball is the team aspect. "In most cases, the whole team needs to function as a unit instead of as individuals to win games", he explains.
This year, Thomas wants to see the team grow together and be a competitive team in the league. By the end of the season, he hopes that the team will be in playoff contention.
