Anthropology — MA

Business Administration (Fredericton campus) — MBA

In addition to the application, transcript, letters of references, and fee, all applicants for graduate study should include as part of their on-line application:

  • a statement of interest, at least one page long, outlining their preferred area of study.
  • an academic writing sample. For applicants to an MA program, the writing sample is ideally a research essay (of at least 8 pages) from an upper-level undergraduate English literature course. For applicants to the PhD program, a substantial graduate-level research paper (10-20 pages) or chapter of an MA thesis is recommended. The writing sample should be a clean (unmarked) essay, involving literary analysis and research and, where applicable, in the area of proposed study. Applicants to the Creative Writing component of the MA program must also include a portfolio of recent and representative creative writing (at least 10 pages long).

Forestry & Environmental Management

  • MA applicants should submit a resume, a statement of research interests and a brief writing sample.
  • PhD applicants need agreement from a member of the History Graduate Academic Unit to supervise, as well as statement of research interests  and a writing sample (usually an MA thesis).

Kinesiology — MSc (Exercise & Sport Science), MA (Sport & Recreation Studies), MBA in Sport & Recreation Management

Applicants to the Exercise & Sport Science and Sport and Recreation Studies degree programs are to provide a detailed statement of research goals and interests, and must include the names of the full-time faculty members who closely match your area of interest with Application for Admission to the School of Graduate Studies.  Applicants to the MBA in Sport & Recreation Management must also submit a GMAT (students may have the GMAT waived for CGPA of 3.6 or greater); an undergraduate course in Economics is required.

  • The Faculty of Nursing requires proof of registration or eligibility for registration as a nurse in NB or in the area in which the applicant plans to practice.
  • A written statement of career goals, professional interests and research interests (500–1000 words) should be submitted. This will give applicants an opportunity to share their vision of nursing and how they hope graduate preparation will enhance their ability to achieve their career goals.

Political Science — MA

  • All applicants must also submit a statement of research interests & career goals (500 words) and list Faculty available for supervision.

Psychology (Saint John campus) — MA (Experimental)

  • Curriculum Vitae- A complete list of awards & honours you have received; professional presentations or publications that you have authored or co-authored, and any relevant volunteer & employment positions.
