Because of You
Sometimes we don't realize how much happening on campus is
because of donors. From students who
came to UNB because of a scholarship, to researchers we would not have
otherwise attracted; from refurbished study spaces to electronic journals at
the library, donors are responsible for countless activities, facilities,
resources and people at UNB.
Here are just a few examples of the impact of donor gifts:
On the cutting edge
Andreas Lambropoulos, a doctoral student in Chemistry, is working on quantum mechanical calculations. Although he's just getting started, he's already received feedback from academics as far away as Germany and Italy saying that his discoveries are making a difference for them.
Andreas is studying at UNB because of a donation from Dr. Richard Armstrong that established the David M. Armstrong Doctoral Fellowship in Chemistry and Physics at UNB.
Leading the way
A donation from GlaxoSmithKline is helping UNB improve quality of life for New Brunswick families. Our Paediatric Lifestyle Management Program works with children who are overweight or obese, and their families to make healthier nutritional, leisure and physical activity choices.
The program, which has proven effective, will soon be replicated in other parts of the province.
Room to Learn
Hundreds of donors to the Saint John Commons project are contributing what they can to bring their vision of a renewed campus to reality. With so many people supporting the project, UNB Saint John will soon have a signature building and students will have an enriched learning experience.
