UNB has publicly launched the most ambitious fundraising effort in our history: the It Begins Here campaign. With the support of alumni, friends, corporations and foundations, we have made great progress toward our $110 million goal, giving us a great start.
So what’s it all for?
Fully one-half the goal—$55 million—is dedicated to student financial support, scholarships and bursaries for our undergraduate and graduate students. The balance will strengthen our faculties and academic programs, enhance research centres and institutes, expand our award-winning entrepreneurship programs, and create more opportunities for experiential learning through internships, co-op placements and study abroad.
We invite you to join us in contributing to this campaign—a campaign that can only make our University a better place. With literally thousands of people from outside UNB demonstrating they believe in what we do and how we do it, it’s time for faculty and staff—the UNB family—to step forward and help to achieve the goal.
The beauty of this campaign is that you can support any project or program on either of our campuses that is important to you—a particular scholarship or bursary fund, your faculty or department’s Opportunities Fund, varsity athletics or something else. It’s entirely your choice.
The easiest way to make your contribution is through payroll deduction. Simply indicate on the online form or a printed pledge form the amount per pay and the number of pay periods and it will automatically be set up for you.
We encourage you to respond today, so that your contribution can begin to have an impact as soon as possible.
It Begins Here is a phrase that connects us to our roots as Canada’s oldest English-language university. It refers to the educational leadership UNB has shown over the centuries. It also reminds us of the fundamentally important role we play in our students’ lives as they prepare for their future in society.
It Begins Here. It begins with us.
