Fitness and Campus Recreation

If you are like many students, you may not live on campus or even nearby.

We know that there is a good chance you are busy attending classes or rushing off to work. We want to help you stay fit and healthy during your university career. Don’t take the gift of good health for granted.

Did you know that many students gain more than 10 pounds in their first year at university because of a combination of poor eating habits and lack of physical exercise? Don’t let yourself go down that road in the first place; it can be tough to come back from.

Here are some of the sport club and intramural activities that we have offered in the past:

Women’s hockey, soccer, football, flag football, non-contact hockey, volleyball, basketball, ball hockey, lacrosse, badminton, ultimate Frisbee, softball, cricket, running, Aikido and beach volleyball (summer).

Is there something you would like to learn more about? Perhaps a sport that you never had a chance to play when you were young? Are you wondering how to use the fitness machines? Just ask Donna McCullum.

Remember, current full-time and part-time students can use the Athletics Centre free of charge. You and your friends should take full advantage of this. Get in the habit early.
