You'll know as soon as you walk along the historic streets or stroll along the boardwalk that there is something extraordinary about Saint John. As the oldest incorporated city in Canada and the largest city in New Brunswick, you can feel its colourful past and intriguing modern edge.

Saint John has a reliable and affordable transit system that makes it easy to move between the campus and uptown.

Since you'll be nestled on the Bay of Fundy, you'll have access to some of the freshest and most delicious seafood in North America. From waterfront pubs to trendy fine dining and food from around the world, you'll find whatever you're craving in Saint John.

Things to do


Saint John has a vibrant cultural scene with local farmers and artisan markets, music and art shows going all year long. 

Spring and summer favourites:
  • Beach volleyball on the boardwalk 
  • Take advantage of the different hiking paths throughout the city including those at Rockwood Park, the Irving Nature Park, one of Canada's largest urban parks.
  • Enjoy all of the events hosted by Market Square on the Saint John Boardwalk each night
  • Rent a kayak or canoe and explore the areas many water systems
Fall and winter favourites:
  • Explore the groomed snowshoe and cross country ski trails, take a walk through the Midland Ice Caves, Ice Climb
  • Catch a Saint John Sea Dogs game the city's major junior ice hockey team
