Advising for first-year students

Students already in progress of their BA degree need to register for their courses before seeing the Academic Advisor, Tanya Pitt in Oland Hall, Ground Floor, Room 12.

The Academic Advisor will not select your courses for you but is here to guide you through gathering the information needed so you successfully complete your degree.

Fall 2020 (20/FA) and Winter 2021 (21/WI) terms will likely open mid-March 2020 for continuing students. The specific date will be announced when known.

For students new to UNB starting in September 2020, registration for Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 will likely open on a Saturday in late May 2020. The specific date will be announced when known.

Use the advising and course groupings sheet to help your selection process.

Remember to have with you at the appointment an updated copy of your unofficial UNB transcript, which you can get through your e-services under the academic tab.

For the remainder of the Winter 2020 term, you can email us at, or book a telephone or videoconference meeting (using MS Teams which is available to all UNB students via your Portal). Please make sure to provide your meeting preference and your contact information when you book your appointment.
