Leadership that carries into every career

Graduates from the School of Leadership Studies step into the world as adaptable, ethical leaders who are ready to ready to build initiatives and bring positive change in the places they live, learn, and work.

They combine strong academic foundations with hands-on experience, curiosity, and care for their communities.

Our small, discussion-based classes, close mentoring, and local and global partnerships help students grow the confidence to lead in many different contexts. Here, students are encouraged to ask good questions, listen deeply, and work alongside others to move ideas into action.

Where our graduates go

A Leadership Studies degree is intentionally broad and flexible. It prepares students for careers across many sectors, including:

  • Law and public policy
  • Medicine and health-related fields
  • Education and teaching
  • Business, entrepreneurship, and social enterprise
  • Government and politics
  • Community development and social work
  • Non-profit, co-operative, and advocacy work

Many graduates continue to professional programs and graduate studies, while others move directly into roles where they lead teams, manage projects, and help organizations respond to complex challenges.

Transferable skills for every path

No matter which path they choose, our graduates are known for the way they show up in their workplaces and communities. Through coursework, community-engaged projects, and internship experiences, students learn to:

  • Think critically about complex, real-world issues
  • Communicate clearly, across disciplines and perspectives
  • Work effectively in teams and across sectors
  • Solve problems creatively and collaboratively
  • Engage with ethical questions and multiple viewpoints
  • Participate actively in community life and public conversations

These skills travel well. They give graduates the flexibility to change direction, take on new opportunities, and keep learning throughout their careers.
