The International Student Advisor’s Office staff are available to help you on both UNB campuses:
Uyoyo Ajao is the International Student Engagement Advisor.
She is dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for international students.
She designs, develops, and implements engagement initiatives that foster connections and students' sense of belonging within the UNB community. She is a key resource in helping international students successfully integrate into campus life and the broader community.
Students are encouraged to connect with Uyoyo and participate in initiatives such as the ISAO Faculty Hangout and the monthly Lunch and Learn sessions.
Jason MacFarlane is an Immigration Advisor providing advice for our returning international students.
He has extensive knowledge related to information for temporary residences and currently focuses on specific areas include study permit extensions, SIN, co-op work permits, post-graduation work permits.
Jason is the first point of contact for students who are currently in Canada.
Ase Kelly Berg works under Student Services as the international programs advisor on the Saint John campus. She has been working for UNB Saint John since 2003 in various capacities.
Currently, she manages the student abroad program which helps students experience the world with outgoing and incoming academic exchanges, internships and short-term summer programs.
She provides both logistical and financial support to first-time travelers and experienced globetrotting students.
She is also the international student advisor and offer support in new and current international students.
In addition to organizing and running orientation programs at the beginning of each term, Ase is a regulated international student immigration advisor and can provide help with renewal of study permits, work permits and entry visas.
Nhien is the international student and arrival advisor. Her role consists of running arrival sessions to ensure that international students have access to lots of information and assistance prior to arriving to Canada.
She's is the main contact for the international students who are studying on the UNB Saint John campus.
