Undergraduate programs

We offer a variety of programs providing students with a broad foundation in biology:

  • Honours (thesis or course)
  • Majors
  • Minors

All programs begin with a two-year foundation which includes:

  • Biochemistry
  • Molecular and cell biology
  • Genetics
  • Evolution
  • Ecology
  • Diversity

Honours and major students then specialize in the third and fourth years with eleven concentrations.

Our two honours programs prepare students for graduate work and it can be adapted to meet prerequisites for admission in professional schools.

The major provides a focus in Biology and is designed for students with a wide range of career objectives. The minor program provides students with the opportunity to explore biology while pursuing another major program.

Co-op program

We seek to provide opportunities for students and employers to develop relationships that enhance the learning experience for students and present employers with skilled and motivated employees looking to make a career connection.

Field courses

Gain invaluable experience from studying organisms in your local environment, by looking at the biotic interactions between them! Discover the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on their distributions and adaptations.
