Campus health measures

UNB takes the health and safety of our community very seriously. We continue to work with New Brunswick Public Health and WorkSafeNB to ensure UNB’s approach is managed and phased appropriately.

We will continue to follow New Brunswick Public Health advice and direction as we transition through the phases on New Brunswick’s path to opening. Learn more about New Brunswick’s path toward the Green level of the COVID-19 recovery plan.

The following information is correct under the current Yellow health alert level.

COVID-19 student safety orientation

To understand the new safety procedures implemented on campus, all UNB students are required to complete a COVID-19 student safety orientation.

The safety orientation provides important information on New Brunswick Public Health requirements and UNB guidelines to maintaining a safe environment for the UNB community. The COVID-19 student safety orientation explains why safety measures are important and what to expect when you return to campus.

Face mask guidelines

Non-medical face masks are required at the university. Our guidelines on the use of community face masks explain when and where you must wear a mask.

Spaces on campuses

We have room-specific operational health and safety requirements for lecture halls, classrooms and study spaces.

Location tracking

Self-isolation for students

All students arriving in New Brunswick from outside the Atlantic provinces must self-isolate for 14 days. Learn more about UNB’s self-isolation requirements.
