Hannah Wyile is a PhD student in Political Science at the University of Ottawa. She studies theories and practices of political reconciliation in Canada. She has an MA in Political Science from the University of Victoria and a BA in Human Rights and Political Science from Carleton University. Her Masters thesis investigates the ways in which alternative conceptions of politics challenge dominant approaches to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, and explores the relationship between reconciliation and treaty relations. Hannah’s current research project involves tracing the genealogy of reconciliation in Canadian politics in order to analyse its use as a political concept and its effects on inter-group relations.
