BIOL4533Bioinformatics: From Data to Discovery4 ch (2C 3L) (LE)

Study computational methods used for analyzing a range of common biological data types, particularly sequencing data. Topics include sequence alignment, database searching, microbiome profiling, phylogenetic analysis, the use of artificial intelligence in biology, and others. These topics will be introduced in lectures followed by computer lab workshops, where students will get practical experience using the command-line and scripting/programming. No prior programming experience is needed.

Prerequisites: BIOL 2053, STAT 2264 or equivalent, or permission of the instructor.
