|---|---|---|
Explore how nervous systems generate and control natural animal behaviour, integrating neurobiology, sensory ecology, and evolutionary perspectives. Students examine how animals perceive and interact with their environments across stages from signal detection to complex motor control. Emphasis is placed on comparative approaches, primary literature analysis, and case studies featuring both classic model organisms and species from Atlantic Canada. Learning is supported through lectures, seminars, and assignments that develop critical thinking, experimental design, and science communication skills. NOTE: BIOL 3323 is recommended. | ||
