2024-2025 BEd 10-Month School Years Program Academic Dates

These dates apply to the 10-month BEd School Years program i. Please refer to Financial Services for tuition and related fees information.

Please refer to the UNB's Calendar of Academic Dates for other important dates, such as tuition due dates, course add/withdraw dates, and deadlines to opt out of student health and dental plan. Students registered in courses that do not follow the undergraduate Fall and Winter term start and end dates will receive specific course withdraw deadline dates from their academic advisor.

Fall term 2024

Wednesday 14 Last day for adding of dropping ED 5801 or ED 3415. Courses dropped up to and including this date will not show on academic record
Sunday 18 Last day for dropping ED 5801 or ED 3415without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on the academic record. After this date, a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.
Thursday - Friday 22-23 Mandatory Orientation for new BEd students 2 days
Monday - Friday Aug 26-30 Start of Fall Term Classes 1 week
September Monday 2 Labour Day - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
  Tuesday 3 Last day for adding or dropping fall term courses. Courses dropped up to and including this date will not show on academic record.
Tuesday - Friday 3-6 Initial practicum, observation week 4 days
September 9 - October 25 Remainder of fall term classes 7 weeks
Monday 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
October Thursday 3 Last day to Drop a course without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on your academic record. After this date a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.

June Wednesday 11 Last day to dropping a summer term course without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on your academic record. After this date a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.
*Except for essential services, most university offices will be closed on the dates indicated as "University Closed". Essential functions, for example, UNB Security & Traffic, Facilities Management and the Residences will be staffed and operational. Emergency maintenance may be arranged throug the Security Department. A few departments and facilities such as the libraries and computer labs may offer some services on certain holidays. Those wishing to use such services on a holiday are advised to check with the specific department about operations for that day.
