3rd yr with the Seawolves
Billy started playing volleyball in his last year of junior high. He continued to play on the high school team and furthered his experience by playing on competitive club teams. Over the years, Billy has been fortunate to be a part of provincially ranked and winning teams. He is no stranger to the Seawolves as he was a member of the 2008-09 team who won the ACAA banner and traveled to CCAA Nationals.
Billy is competitive by nature, so he loves the intensity of playing volleyball. "At times things get so heated on the court that you develop 'tunnel vision' and a want for the ball" he says. He also enjoys the opportunity to grow and develop his mental toughness and physical skill as it pertains to the sport.
This season, Philips wants to see the team bring home the ACAA banner. He'd also like to see the Seawolves volleyball program become sought after program by athletes.
