Since its founding in 1996, Nursing Research Day has been a cornerstone of scholarly exchange within the Faculty of Nursing, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and innovation across practice, education, policy, and research. Throughout this presentation, I will trace the event’s evolution over three decades, drawing on archival analysis of more than 30 years of presentation abstracts, keynote themes, and participant roles. I will highlight shifts in research focus and methodology, the growth of national and international engagement, and the diverse contributions of undergraduate students, practicing nurses, faculty, and interdisciplinary collaborators.

Weaving in the vision of Nursing Research Day’s founder and my own journey from undergraduate attendee to doctoral scholar, this presentation celebrates the event’s legacy while issuing a call to action for the next generation. Nursing Research Day is more than a conference—it is a living tradition that strengthens the profession, amplifies nursing knowledge, and inspires research that matters.
