External scholarships

The following external awards are not funded or administered by the University of New Brunswick, so we cannot ensure the information is up to date. Mary Majka Scholarship Fund: Open to NB students only. Scholarship amounts range from $250- $1000.

Loans Canada's Financial Literacy Scholarship: Open to part time and full time students. One $750 scholarship awarded each term (summer, fall, winter).

Epilator Hub’s Student Scholarship Program: $1000 for students who need Financial Aid.

Leadership, Opportunity, Unity & Diversity Scholarship: $2500 for a student whose work will someday benefit the LGBTQ community.

Pride Education Network | Diversity Scholarship: Open to LGBTQ BC high school graduates.

NBFL Solidarity Bursaries: Two $500 bursaries. Open to entrance and continuing students

BluEarth Renewables Scholarship: Open to residents of Canada or the United States who are full-time students. Three separate scholarships of up to $3,000.

Solve Your Debts Scholarship: Open to students from Atlantic Canada. Multiple awards of $1,000.

Helen Bassett Commemorative Student Award: Open to Indigenous woman, Two spirit or diverse gender students under 31. Must demonstrate financial need.

Michael Melancon-Koffend Student Award: 13 awards valued at $1,000 each. Open to Indigenous woman, Two-spirit or gender diverse students. Must demonstrate a commitment to improving the situation of Indigenous youths in Canada.

Nellie Makokis Carlson Commemorative Student Award: 3 awards of $1,000. Awarded to a single mother, Two-spirit or gender diverse person of Indigenous descent. Must show financial need.

Loretta Saunders Community Scholarship Fund: Open to Indigenous women from Mi'kma'ki, Nunatsiavut, or Atlantic Canada who are attended a post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada and have completed the equivalent of one year of post-secondary education in the previous two years.

Terry Fox Humanitarian Award: Open to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. Up to $28,000 over 4 years.

James A. Whitebone Memorial: Open to members, or their children, who belong to local unions affiliated with the NBFL who are in their first year attending any University in Atlantic Canada. $500

Doug Bridgman Memorial Scholarship: Open to students who have a physical disability.

Richard Yu Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship awarded to entering and continuing students. 


Canadian Academy of Engineering Scholarships: Two separate scholarships valued at $2,000 each. Open to Canadian Citizens and permanent residents of Canada enrolled in a Canadian accredited undergraduate Engineering program.

Nova Scotia Power Scholarships: Open to Nova Scotia residents. Multiple awards of $2,500.

Graydon Nicholas Indigenous Scholarship in Engineering: Open to New Brunswick residents of Indigenous ancestory. One scholarship of $3,000. Deadline to apply is September 30.

Jocelyne Roy-Vienneau Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship for Women - Open to female engineering undergraduate students entering their 2nd year or higher of full-time study.  One scholarship of $3,000. Deadline to apply is September 30.


Tim McCarthy Environment: $500 prize. Open to NBFL members or their children who are pursuing higher education in fields relating to environmental protection and education.


North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship: Open to Canadian residents. Two $1000 scholarships.

Frank H. Sobey Awards: Open to students who have completed their first year of Business. Eight awards of $35,000.
