  • Understand the major conceptual approaches in designing program evaluations.
  • Identify qualitative and quantitative research methods used in program evaluation.
  • Identify appropriate data gathering methods, data management, and data analysis strategies.
  • Understand how to interpret and use research effectively.
  • Be able to identify how to report results and prepare effective research reports, including recommendations

 



Course Description

In this course, students will gain an understanding of and appreciation for the field of program evaluation in applied health services research. It provides an overview of the program evaluation process and program evaluation standards. Students will be introduced to qualitative and quantitative methods used in program evaluation and develop skills in the preparation of effective reports and be aware of the importance of critical issues and ethical considerations involved in program evaluation.



Qualifications

A PhD in an appropriate field, knowledge of computers, and excellent communication skills are required.

Experience using the Moodle platform would be an asset.
