Curriculum Context

Required 3rd year clinical course in the Bachelor of Nursing Undergraduate Program.



Course Description

Applies a population health focus in community settings with diverse population.

Prerequisite: NURS 2063 or NURS 2172 and NURS 2173.

Co-requisite: NURS 3065.



Qualifications

A Bachelor Degree or higher in Nursing and active registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick is required; current CPR-HCP (also accept BLS for Healthcare Providers). Recent relevant clinical experience in acute (medical surgical) nursing is preferred. Previous teaching experience would be considered an asset.



Additional Notes

Clinical dates may vary within the term and will be discussed with incumbent. Number of days for clinical time will be calculated to include clinical days and time for evaluation/preparation. Total days/hours will vary depending on group numbers. Number of positions available is dependent upon final class enrolment. You will be required to meet Horizon Health Network placement requirements which may include Criminal Record Check, Immunization requirements and online orientation modules.

There are six positions available in the greater Fredericton area.

If you are currently working for a health authority, please ensure your direct supervisor/nurse manager is aware of your interest in applying and can support the time off from the unit or work with the clinical schedule.
