Course Description

This course offers an interdisciplinary survey of the experiences and contributions of people of African descent within the Canadian context. Beginning with a concise historical overview of the Black communities in Canada, the course explores critical frameworks such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) and other pertinent theoretical approaches. Drawing on disciplines including history, literature, anthropology, legal studies, media studies, performances, and creative writing, students will critically examine the multifaceted dimensions of Black identity in Canada.



Qualifications

PhD  is preferred, but qualified individuals with a Masters degree will be considered.
