Course Description

Focuses on the fundamental structure of Japanese and practicing of communication skills. Introduces Hiragan and Katakana, writing systems in Japanese, and practice of reading and writing. Some aspects of Japanese culture are discussed. Not open to native speakers.



Qualifications

  • Master's (or graduate studies) in Japanese language or in a relevant discipline (Japanese culture, pedagogy, linguistics, etc.). 
  • Native or near-native proficiency in language of instruction (Japanese) and English. Instruction will be in English.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses at a university level.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
