Curriculum Context

This is a first-year course. 



Course Description

An introduction to tort law, part of the law of obligations and one of several fields of law concerned with what are classically conceived of as private wrongs. Learn the historical an available in tort actions, and the roles of case law, policy and statutes. Be able to identify, within a complex scenario, parties who may face tort liability, along with facts relevant to such potential liability and any relevant defences and remedies.
