Office of the University General Counsel

The University General Counsel manages the legal affairs at UNB.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to a number of different stakeholders at the university including senior administration, Board of Governors and faculty/department leaders
  • Review, prepare and negotiate corporate and commercial contractual issues
  • Retain, instruct and manage the relationship with external legal counsel on behalf of the university
  • Manage the costs of legal services at the university
  • Manage litigation and other proceedings by and against the university
  • Represent the university in a variety of legal meetings/seminars/conferences
