Dr. Rakesh Mishra is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, UNB. He is also Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at SceneSharp Technologies Inc. Fredericton, NB where he leads a team of scientists and software engineers to develop products for object detection and identification using multi-sensor data and ML/DL algorithms.

Dr. Mishra received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He is an expert in multi-sensor data fusion, computer vision, and AI-based object detection using multi-sensor data (MS, HS, SAR, LiDAR, etc.).

He has authored numerous research articles on image fusion, object detection, and LiDAR. Also, he is a reviewer of prestigious scholarly journals in the areas of data fusion, object detection, machine learning/deep learning, and artificial intelligence.

Prior to his current positions, Dr. Mishra gained solid research experience from and made notable contributions to several leading research institutions worldwide, such as the University of New Brunswick, NB, Canada; Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India; and IIRS-Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), India. He has also partnered with the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND), National Research Council (NRC), and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) in innovative research projects.
