Biography
Dr. Suprio Ray received his Ph.D. (Computer Science) from University of Toronto and M.Sc. (Computer Science) from University of British Columbia. He currently leads the Big Data Systems and Analytics Lab. He is also associated with the Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), Atlantic and Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC).
He investigates how to build scalable data systems and develop novel approaches for query processing and data analysis. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the software industry for a number of years. He won two best paper awards and is the co-inventor in a US patent. He also received the Harrison McCain Foundation Young Scholars Award.
