Dr. Sajjad Dadkhah is an Assistant Professor, Cybersecurity Team Leader, and Canada Mastercard IoT Research Chair at the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC), Faculty of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick (UNB).
His research focuses on AI-driven cybersecurity, with particular interest in Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, intrusion detection systems, IoT/IIoT/OT security, and machine learning-based threat detection. His work aims to develop intelligent, explainable, and practical cybersecurity solutions for modern digital environments, including critical infrastructure, smart systems, and connected devices.
Dr. Dadkhah has been involved in several security projects as a research assistant, researcher, and security consultant in organizations such as Kyushu University in Japan, Universiti Malaya, and IRIS Smart Technology Complex. He has also received Bronze and Gold medals from local and international invention competitions. He has published numerous articles in journals, book chapters, and conferences and has more than ten years of experience in digital multimedia security, computer security, IoT security, and machine learning-based detection systems.
In September 2016, he was awarded a fellowship by the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan to continue his research. In July 2019, he joined the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity as a Cybersecurity Team Leader and Researcher. He was later promoted to an Associate Researcher and faculty member role, equivalent to an Assistant Professor with additional industrial and applied research responsibilities.
Dr. Dadkhah has also served the Applied Soft Computing journal, published by Elsevier, as a Board Member, Associate Editor, and Managing Editor since 2016.
