Bilingual strategy and operations professional, Pierre-Andre Fruytier is Senior Director of the Supply Chain Center of Excellence at J.D. Irving, Limited.
He has more than 25 years of international general management and consulting experience in manufacturing/processing, distribution/retail, construction/maintenance and logistics/transportation.
In addition to his engineering background in applied mathematics and aerospace, he is also an MBA graduate from the Harvard Business School, and a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
He started his career at Caterpillar in Europe as a supervisor of an assembly line, then worked in marketing for Europe, Africa, and Middle East, eventually for Central Purchasing in Europe. After his MBA, he joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant advising senior executives of various industrial companies in Europe.
He transitioned to general management, leading for seven years the growth of several subsidiaries of a European group of diversified companies. As a self-employed, he filled interim and turnaround management roles at SMEs, before relocating in Canada to join EY as Atlantic Strategy Lead for Advisory services.
Today, aside from his current responsibilities at J.D. Irving, Limited, he is also a board member (Treasurer) of the New Brunswick Museum while still teaching after hours Integrated Business Planning in the MBA program of UNB.
Before volunteering as a judge of UNB Data Challenge and the APEX Business Plan Competition, Pierre-Andre had already been coaching and judging Belgian, French, and German participants to the 1, 2, 3 GO Business Plan Contest in Europe.
