Arts and Law

Students may be admitted to the Faculty of Law’s Juris Doctor (JD) program after they have successfully completed either two or three years of the BA program. For further information regarding admission to the Faculty of Law by this path, please refer to the Faculty of Law website or contact the Law Admissions Office (lawadmit@unb.ca).

Students who complete three years of the BA program and are accepted into the JD program must complete the Major, Double Major, Honours, or Joint Honours courses required by their subject(s) as time permits. Only approved Law courses will count as upper-level electives for the BA, and students may count a maximum of 30 ch towards the BA.

Students who complete both the above requirements for the BA and the requirements for the JD will graduate with both a BA and a JD.
