Electrical Engineering

ECE4813RF Engineering4 ch (3C 3L*) (EL)

Builds upon the foundations of engineering electromagnetics to prepare students for a career or further study in radiofrequency (RF) engineering. Major topics include time-domain reflectometry, advanced transmission lines, impedance matching, scattering parameters, RF devices, antennas and propagation, and radio receivers and noise. Students are introduced to industry-standard RF test equipment, including signal generators, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. The laboratory experience concludes with a student-led experiment on a device or topic of their choosing.

Prerequisites: ECE 3111 and ECE 3821
