CHE2301Transport Phenomena in Chemical Engineering3 ch (3C)

Introduces foundational analogies between fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer, and the applications of those analogies to practice. Transport equations, including Navier-Stokes, Fourier’s Law and Fick’s Law, Reynolds and Chilton-Colburn analogies. Turbulence: scaling, dispersion. Techniques for solving unsteady-state systems. Empirical correlations for estimating transport coefficients.
