Consider hunter-gatherer groups from an anthropological and archaeological perspective. Although relatively few hunter-gatherers exist today, hunting and gathering was the sole lifeway worldwide for the vast majority of human history. Topics to be covered include portrayals of hunter-gatherers, the validity of hunter-gatherer as an anthropological category, variation in foraging strategies, cosmology, architecture, gender, and band-level political organization.
