NURS6024Advanced Qualitative Research3 ch

This doctoral-level course focuses on in-depth examination of advanced qualitative research methodologies as they apply to nursing and health sciences. Designed for PhD students with foundational knowledge of qualitative inquiry, the course is intended to deepen students’ understanding of philosophical underpinnings, epistemological stances, and methodological complexities, emphasizing links between positionality, reflexivity, and knowledge creation. Students will develop knowledge and abilities to conduct and lead all aspects of qualitative research projects including proposal development, rigour, ethics, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation are addressed. Opportunities for hands-on work with data, peer review, and methodological writing are embedded throughout.
