2025-2026 BEd 10-Month School Years Program Academic Dates

These dates apply to the BEd School Years Program (10-month). Please refer to the 2025-2026 undergraduate calendar of academic dates for other important dates such as tuition and related fee and opt out of student health and dental plan deadlines.

Students registered in the Bachelor of Education in Adult Education and the Bachelor of Education in Wabanaki Elementary Education programs will follow course deadlines as outlined in the 2025-2026 undergraduate calendar of academic dates.

Students registered in courses that do not follow the undergraduate Fall and Winter term start and end dates will receive specific course withdraw deadline dates from their academic advisor.

Fall term 2025

August Wednesday - Tuesday 13-19 Start of ED 3415 (math) class 1 week
Wednesday 13 Last day for adding or dropping ED 5801 or ED 3415. Courses dropped up to and including
this date will not show on the academic record. After this date a notation of “W” (withdraw no academic penalty) will be shown on the academic transcript until the last day to withdraw without academic penalty.
Sunday 17 Last day for dropping ED 5801 or ED 3415 without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on the academic record. After this date, a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.
Thursday - Friday 21-22 Mandatory Orientation for new BEd students 2 days
Monday - Friday Aug 25-29 Start of Fall Term Classes 1 week
September Monday 1 Labour Day - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
  Wednesday 3 Last day for adding or dropping fall term courses. Courses dropped up to and including this date will not show on academic record.
Tuesday - Friday 2-5 Initial practicum, observation week 4 days
September 8 - October 24 Remainder of fall term classes 7 weeks
Tuesday 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
October Sunday 5 Last day to drop a fall term course without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on your academic record. After this date a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.
Monday 13 Thanksgiving Day - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
Monday - Friday Oct 27 -31 10-month BEd reading week - no classes or tests/assignments scheduled* 1 week
November 3 - December 19 Intermediate Practicum 7 weeks

May 11 - June 26 Summer Term Classes 7 weeks
May Friday 15 Last day for adding or dropping summer term courses. Courses dropped up to and
including this date will not show on academic record. After this date a notation of “W” (withdraw no academic penalty) will be shown on the academic transcript until the last day to withdraw without academic penalty.
Monday 18 Victoria Day - University Closed - no classes scheduled*
June Wednesday 10 Last day to dropping a summer term course without academic penalty. A grade of "W" (withdrawn) will be shown on your academic record. After this date a grade of "WF" (withdrawn fail) will apply.
*Except for essential services, most university offices will be closed on the dates indicated as "University Closed". Essential functions, for example, UNB Security & Traffic, Facilities Management and the Residences will be staffed and operational. Emergency maintenance may be arranged throug the Security Department. A few departments and facilities such as the libraries and computer labs may offer some services on certain holidays. Those wishing to use such services on a holiday are advised to check with the specific department about operations for that day.
